Troop Awards is software that allows Scoutmasters the ability to print award cards in large quantities, saving valuable time for these volunteers. The website and software was out of date and needed a better platform to sell and distribute the software licenses. The owner wanted a better solution for a website and web store, so we took on the challenge to enhance the site and add more functionality.

Out-dated website

The original website was build by the owner using a simple GoDaddy basic template. It was not responsive and only used PayPal for accepting payments. We moved them to Shopify for a better owner and user web shopping experience.

License key distribution

Each software key is sent to the user, but it was done manually by the owner. He didn’t want to have this process and wanted to make it happen when the user purchased the license.

Streamlined sales

Along with better license key distribution, we updated the store to allow for better product presentation and usability on any screen or device. Shipping options increased for both the store owner and the customer by offering better rates and services on shipping.

Create an all-encompassing, responsive web store

By updating the framework on the website, we provided the owner a fully responsive website and store to streamline their sales and provide a great user experience for the customers. With the built-in content management system, the owner can add products and process orders easily and efficiently. We even created a way to distribute the software key upon purchase.

In addition to the updated website, a new, web-based version of the software was developed. We created an online version of the software so customers can subscribe and use the printing service without having to download and install the software on their computer.

Content management system

Having an easy-to-use content management system was key to the owner’s enjoying in running an online store. By customizing a Shopify store, we were able to provide a specific store for the owner’s needs.

By customizing the store shopping cart and order process, we automated the creation and distribution of the software license key by providing the user this information upon software purchase.

Web Application

In addition to downloading the full software, we created a lite-version web application that allows users to subscribe and perform the main functions of the application. This streamlined the support function and limited support calls for the owner.
